Review: YP Yellow Pages apps for iPhone and iPad
YP—Yellow Pages for iPhone and YP—AT&T Yellow Pages for iPad are separate adaptations of the AT&T Yellow Pages in app format. The apps have different front ends but seem to (and should, logically) access the same database of businesses throughout the U.S.
iPhone App Reviews Sorted by Editor's Rating
It would be most fun to focus this brief review on the apps’ interfaces. The iPhone version has a fairly effective voice recognition function that works very well. The iPad version lacks the voice recognition function but—well, it’s on the iPad, and therefore easier to type in searches, read lists of results, and generally navigate, whether straight from from the app’s interface or when the YP calls on the Maps app to help you explore business locations via virtual push-pins.
Review: TeamViewer for iPhone and iPad
Editor’s Note: The following review is adapted from Five Star Apps: The Best iPhone and iPad Apps for Work and Play by Glenn Fleishman. (2010, Pearson Education and Peachpit Press).
iPhone App Reviews Sorted by Editor's Rating
The free TeamViewer app (on the iPad, it’s called TeamViewer HD) works with desktop software of the same name for Mac OS X, Windows, and other platforms to provide remote access to a desktop. The desktop TeamViewer works as both a server and for remote access; the app is for remote access only. It’s easy to use and flexible. The iOS version provides a great window on other machines. (TeamViewer cannot provide remote access to view an iOS screen, however.)

Review: ZDocks BaseDock
There are many iPod/iPhone docks on the market for holding your device while it charges, syncs, and plays. Apple itself sells its $ 29 iPhone 4 Dock (for the iPhone 4 only) and its $ 59 Universal Dock (for any iPhone and most recent dock-connector iPods), and scores of third-party companies offer similar products.
ZDocks' $ 49 BaseDock stands out from that crowd due to its sleek design and hefty frame. The BaseDock is a block of solid, silver-finish zinc alloy that weighs 500 grams—1.1 pounds to those of us here in the U.S.—and has four anti-slip rubber feet to keep it firmly in place on your desk.

Review: Zaggmate iPad Case with Keyboard
It seems the biggest debate surrounding the iPad is whether or not it can replace a laptop. The answer, of course, depends on what you need to do. But one thing most people agree on is that if you plan to do a lot of typing, you’ll want a physical keyboard for your tablet.
Apple offers two solutions, the iPad Keyboard Dock and the Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard, but the market is now awash with third-party offerings that aim to provide better portability or more convenience. Most of these alternatives take the form of “keyboard cases” that combine a keyboard with a protective case, and one of the most interesting so far is Zagg’s $ 100 Zaggmate iPad Case with Keyboard.
Review: PhotoCopier for iPhone and iPad
pho•to•cop•i•er (foh-tuh-kop-ee-er): An app that creates a photographic reproduction of a printed or graphic work made with a process in which a new image is formed by the action of proprietary image analysis, color, texture and light. Review: Seline HD for iPad
Seline HD is the #1 iPad Music App, Top Best-Seller, nominee for "Best Musical Innovation 2010"... as seen in the hit video "The iPad Orchestra" (http://ipad-orchestra.com), featured by TechCrunch, MacLife, TUAW and many more. ***** iPad App of the week by Gizmodo & CultOfMac ***** ***** Featured by Apple (multiple times) ***** "...Gorgeous, futuristic music making app... one of the most ambitious apps I've seen on the iPad, period." - Gizmodo ===== Symbiosis of research, technology, and passion... Seline is the latest, most innovative and best-sounding music instrument for the iPad, aimed at easy creation of complicated, soulful, intricate melodies, backed with lush soundscapes. Seline is a great live performance and improvisation music instrument that will keep you playing for hours, even if you haven't touched any music instrument before. Amidio's advanced CrystalClarity HD sound engine now is capable of analyzing and predicting your melodies! The sound is altered on the fly with a dozen of subtle algorhythms that add unbelievable expression, character and life to your music. Seline features a completely new, ergonomically designed (finally!) playing surface called ioGrid, suitable for players with all hand sizes. The melodies are played with two hands, while keeping the iPad on the knees or on the table. Fully adjustable 16-note scale is divided into 2 parts (odd and even), which are then mapped on the left and right grids. Such way of note mapping is beneficial to the existing linear scale mapping solutions as it allows many more improvisation possibilities. And, of course, the player is never out of tune. Seline can be used to play any melody but it does have its own character and sound. The player can choose from 23 built-in factory voices (flutes, bowed strings, reeds, synth leads and more) and 9 drone voices. Drones (chorded synth pads) are generated on-the-fly based on the complex analysis of your melody line and provide an excellent background layer for your melody. Seline player is equipped with full range of recording possibilities, including direct recording to .wav files, deleting, doubling tracks. Overdubbing (layering tracks) is possible and encouraged, since it is an excellent way to create complex orchestrations. Two available onboard FX - grand stereo reverb and dub delay - are the finishing touch in the creation of the magical, delicate sonic heaven. FEATURES + Advanced CrystalClarity HD sound engine + ioGrid - ergonomically designed playing surface + Playing expressive, soulful melodies has never been so easy before + 23 instruments and 9 drone sounds + Automatic backing track - drones (chorded pads) generation + Grand stereo reverb, dub delay FX + 25 included scales + custom scale creation + Record to .WAV, overdub, file manager + Find your recorded .wav files in iTunes / Apps / Seline HD page + Wi-Fi MIDI IN via DSMIDI (experimental but working) ===== Following in updates: + Wi-Fi MIDI OUT + Record to MIDI along wth .wav + More instuments * Brought to you by Amidio, the makers of Touch DJ, Noise.io, Hexatone, iHolophone & other music apps... *
